According to the recent announcement in Vanity Fair, Marvel Studios has revealed ambitious plans for another 20 films after the current 22-film cycle ends with Avengers 4 in 2019. While not mentioning specifics at this point, Marvel no doubt has fans and cosplayers foaming at the mouth in anticipation of another decade-plus of super-heroics and visual design.

New franchises like the upcoming Black Panther (which will feature at least 8 new roles) and Captain Marvel are already teasing many new character and costume designs. Combined with the re-designs and revisions expected for existing main characters in the final Phase 3 films like next year’s Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man & The Wasp, cosplayers will have a lot to keep them busy even before they get to Phase 4.

And if that’s not enough to fire creative imaginations, Disney CEO Bob Iger stated Marvel Studios has a staggering 7,000 characters in its comics library that they haven’t even got to yet to tap for future films. Which all leads to one simple conclusion: for the next decade at least, cosplayers will apparently never run out of cinematic inspiration!

With images from these upcoming films starting to appear, all those eager cosplayers who want to get the drop on their competition had better get moving!
Cosplayers: start your engines!

Final MCU Phase 3 releases:
Black Panther – Feb 2018
Avengers: Infinity War – May 2018
Ant-Man and The Wasp – July 2018
Captain Marvel – March 2019
Avengers 4 – May 2019
