Here they show how to create lights all chasing the same direction without any strobing, by combining multiple lines of Chasing EL wire to go into a single adjustable speed inverter.
EL wire, or electroluminescent wire, is a flexible wire coated in phosphor. Chasing EL wire gives a light-chase effect of continuously surging through the wire. Each EL wire is designed to be driven at 3.3V with an inverter.
