With stars from the comics, music, wrestling, film, and entertainment worlds, the new Astronomicon celebrated all aspects of pop- and geek-culture. Guests included Napoleon Dynamite star Jon Heder, Ming Chen and Bryan Johnson of AMC’s Comic Book Men, Roy Knyrim of Syfy’s Monster Man, Tate Steinsiek and Rob Miller of Syfy’s Face Off (with life-size Groot, Rocket Racoon, and Hulkbuster creations), pro wrestling legends Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Booker T, along with a host of comic writers and artists. Other events included music from the band TWIZTID (with their new comic book), cosplay and tattoo contests, a kids’ DIY workshop, and a Super Smash Bros. tournament.
